Brain Treatment Center Michigan is a physician-led MeRT® clinic in Metro Detroit and Grand Rapids. We accept referrals for treatment-resistant MDD, OCD, PTSD, TBI, autism, and Long COVID. Our team coordinates closely with referring providers throughout treatment.
MeRT is an evidence-based neurostimulation approach that starts with quantitative EEG to personalize each patient's protocol. It is appropriate for patients who have not responded adequately to standard pharmacological or behavioral interventions, or who seek a drug-free alternative.
Patients who have failed one or more adequate antidepressant trials. FDA-cleared TMS covered by TRICARE, VA CCN, and many commercial plans.
FDA-cleared TMS for OCD is covered by TRICARE and major commercial insurers. Appropriate for patients not responding to first-line ERP and SSRI treatment.
Veterans and civilians with PTSD, including co-occurring MDD. VA CCN in-network. Co-occurring MDD may open additional insurance pathways.
Post-TBI cognitive, mood, and sleep symptoms. Auto accident PIP insurance accepted. Co-occurring MDD or anxiety evaluated and treated concurrently.
Ages 3 and older. Can be combined with ABA, speech, and occupational therapy. Many families find other therapies more effective following MeRT.
Persistent brain fog, cognitive fatigue, sleep disruption, and mood changes following COVID-19. qEEG often reveals measurable dysregulation not captured on standard workup.
Our intake process is designed to keep the referring provider informed and to ensure continuity of care. Dr. Wood conducts a full intake evaluation with our psychiatrist at intake — and referring providers receive documentation at key milestones.
Your patient contacts us or we reach out based on your referral. care team verifies insurance, answers logistical questions, and schedules the initial consultation.
Dr. Jennifer A. Wood, MD conducts a full intake evaluation with our psychiatrist. She reviews prior treatment history, establishes or confirms diagnosis, assesses co-occurring conditions, and determines clinical eligibility. This evaluation also generates documentation for insurance prior authorization.
Referring provider receives evaluation summaryDr. Wallace reviews the EEG data and designs a personalized treatment protocol. The EEG is repeated at weeks two, four, and six throughout the treatment course so the protocol adjusts as the patient responds.
Daily in-office sessions, Monday through Friday, approximately 30–45 minutes each. Physician oversight at each EEG cycle (weeks 2, 4, 6). Patients continue existing pharmacological treatment as directed by their referring provider throughout.
At the end of treatment, the patient reviews before-and-after EEG data with the physician team. A clinical summary is prepared for the referring provider. For patients on ongoing medication management, we coordinate the handback to the referring psychiatrist or PCP.
Referring provider receives results summaryBrain Treatment Center Michigan does not take over medication management for referred patients — we are a neurostimulation clinic, not a replacement for the referring provider relationship. Patients on antidepressants, antipsychotics, or other psychotropic medications continue those regimens as directed by their prescribing physician throughout the MeRT course.
We do ask that patients inform their prescribing provider that they are beginning MeRT, and we are available for a provider-to-provider conversation at any point. Contact Dr. Wallace directly at info@braintreatmentusa.com for clinical questions.
Brain Treatment Center Michigan is physician-led — not technician-run. Every patient's EEG is reviewed by a physician, every protocol is physician-approved, and results appointments are conducted by the physician team. Our functional medicine approach means we evaluate the whole patient, not just the presenting diagnosis.

Dr. Wallace oversees all clinical protocols. Her functional medicine background means treatment addresses root-cause neurological and systemic factors. Available for provider-to-provider consultation on complex cases.
