Preparing for your consultation and qEEG

Wash your hair the night before

A clean, product-free scalp helps the EEG sensors get a clear reading.

Bring your history

A list of current medications and prior treatments helps your consultation go faster.

Plan for the full appointment

The qEEG recording itself is quick, but plan for 30–60 minutes for the full visit.

Helping your child feel comfortable with the qEEG

Many families come to us worried about the EEG step specifically. A few things help: practicing wearing a soft hat or cap at home beforehand, using a visual story or photos of the clinic to preview what will happen, and bringing a comfort item or favorite show to watch during the recording.

Our team works at your child's pace, and we have not turned a family away because an EEG couldn't be completed on the first try.

Planning for the full treatment period

Sessions run five days a week for approximately six weeks. A little planning up front — around work, school, and travel — makes the daily rhythm easier to sustain.

Build it into your routine

Sessions are short (15–45 minutes depending on your protocol), with no downtime after.

Plan around travel

Let your coordinator know about any planned travel so your schedule can be built around it up front.
