Prescriptions didn't help. Counseling didn't stick. After MeRT® treatment at Brain Treatment Center Michigan, Ashley says she's become someone she didn't know she could be.
"After treatment at Brain Treatment Michigan with MeRT, Ashley thinks she's become an even better version of herself."
— Ashley, after completing MeRT treatmentAshley's experience with depression isn't unusual — it's just rarely talked about honestly. She tried prescriptions. They didn't help. She tried counseling. The results weren't conclusive and didn't last. For years, she kept looking for something that would actually work.
What drew her to MeRT was the logic behind it. Depression isn't a character flaw — it's often a pattern of dysregulation in the brain. MeRT starts by mapping those patterns with a qEEG, then uses precisely targeted magnetic stimulation to encourage healthier brain communication.
No medication. No invasive procedures. Just a treatment built around how her brain was actually functioning.
Prescriptions didn't help. Ashley tried medication for her depression. The results weren't what she needed.
Counseling didn't stick. Therapy can help — but for Ashley, the results weren't conclusive and didn't hold.
MeRT addressed the brain, not just the symptoms. By starting with a qEEG, the treatment was built around the actual patterns driving Ashley's depression.
"MeRT has turned her life into a much brighter world. She thinks she's become an even better version of herself."
— From Ashley's storyDepression often involves dysregulation in specific brain networks — particularly those governing mood, attention, and emotional regulation. Standard antidepressants work by changing brain chemistry broadly. MeRT works differently: it starts by mapping exactly where dysregulation is occurring, then targets that area directly with gentle magnetic stimulation.
Every MeRT treatment plan is unique because every brain is different. The qEEG tells us your dominant brainwave frequency and where communication is breaking down — and the protocol is built around those findings, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
A comfortable EEG cap records your brainwave patterns. No needles, no discomfort. This gives us a precise map of what's happening in your brain.
Dr. Wallace reviews the EEG findings and designs a protocol specific to your brain — frequency, location, timing — all tailored to you.
Monday through Friday, five days a week. Sessions are approximately 30–45 minutes. The EEG is repeated at weeks two, four, and six so the protocol adjusts as your brain responds.
At the end of treatment, you sit down with Dr. Wallace to review your before-and-after EEG data and discuss what the results mean for you going forward.
